SHERRI A. MURGALLIS

In 1998, Sherri Murgallis graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She received her J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law in 2001. She was admitted to the Colorado Bar in the same year.

Having been involved in the pro bono legal clinics in law school, where she saw first hand how difficult it could be for unrepresented people to navigate through the legal system, Ms. Murgallis was inspired to establish her own firm in order to be able to help those in need of legal assistance and to offer personalized representation.  In January 2003, she established Murgallis law firm, L. L. C., a general practice firm emphasizing domestic relations/family law including same sex relationships, criminal defense, personal injury, civil rights and general civil and business litigation.  She has accumulated extensive litigation and trial experience handling hundreds of cases.  Through consistent dedication to clients and excellent customer service, Murgallis Law Firm has earned the Martindale Hubbell Client Champion Award multiple years in a row among other client-based accolades.

Ms. Murgallis is presently a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association, Boulder County Bar Association, Criminal Defense Bar, and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association.  She has served as President of the Colorado Gay and Lesbian Bar Association and has served on the Board of the Colorado Women's Bar Association.

Through her dedication to martial arts over the past 15 years, Ms. Murgallis has earned a third degree black belt in Shotokan Karate.  She is also a musician, singer and songwriter and performs locally as the bassist for a professional, female-fronted old school funk/R&B band.
